Mango mania and “know yourself” in Nature

Hello together!

It’s June, and we have whizzed past the month when the gorgeous mangoes arrived. If you are in India, you should take a bite into one, and is home to a wide variety of mangoes. I started developing a craze for the fully ripe and sweet, orange fleshed mangoes ever since I was introduced to this fruit as a kid. Foods fuel our health. Have you heard about foods that nourish your energy body or chakras?! Mango helps nourish your sacral chakra, which is the base of your morality, creativity, emotions and feelings. To know more, feel free to linger on :http://balance.chakrahealingsounds.com/2nd-chakra/

Here’s more than just food that meets our eye.

What to do when you are in nature? We always have plenty of ideas, such as playing with your dog, thinking about work, or the latest movie to see, picnicking with your friends over some delicious food, to day dreaming and thinking about a million stuff in your mind. Another idea, which I am pretty sure, has been done by a few people on our planet but rarely done by most people, and which I want to share on my blog – is the best thing that happened to me in Nature, which is WRITING down my LIFE REVIEW in the warmth of nature. This is not something dramatic like the way our movies portray a judgment day near the gates of Heaven after you die. Instead, let’s say that you just spend some time alone and write down on a piece of paper – your progress and desires in life so far! And how far you have come to achieve them.

A LIFE REVIEW can be done in any point in your life and personally, it was awesome, super-cool and so comfortable and easy to do this in nature. At first I thought, this is going to take ages and I must be crazy to sit for endless hours, but I grabbed a paper and a pen and felt so much at ease doing this exercise. In fact, a lot lighter after I completed it. And, you really begin to understand yourself – personally, socially, career wise, etc. and of course your treasured moments 😉

So, if you have the time, grab a paper, find a spot somewhere in nature, and have fun knowing yourself! See you soon….

  1. wow Urmila..

i really loved this inspirational tip on sitting down in nature…to take stock of our lives..

i never had thought of this in all my life….but i guess i will now….

this is some good food for thought…

and i will infuse some feeling into it…and take it forward ..with a hop, skip and jump in my heart…..

Nature inspires us , humans like none else could since times immemorial…an touches our lives in myriad ways….
Indeed, we can all learn so much from nature….if only we listen to the sound of the swaying branches and leaves…if we would only look at the branches and the tree with love..as a fellow creature..which also breathes prana like each of us…

Getting into the rhythm of nature is so important actually…for us to absorb the natural ether…of which we are a natural part of..

  6. Matchless for me is the melody of silence. Urmila well slated – Life Review –

Like a hot cup of morning tea at a dhaba in the countryside / landscaped by mountains – No five-star hotel can recreate that taste. Or ambience. There isn’t a sound better than staying close to the ground.

Nature is an integral part of our lives. But even while we appreciate the blessings she bestows on us, we forget that we are plundering her treasures and thereby denying our children the pleasure of enjoying nature in all her abundance and variety in the future. The beauty of nature has been extolled in the works of poets and artists. When Wordsworth describes the daffodils dancing in the breeze or when our eyes alight on a painting by William Turner, our hearts are filled with an indescribable emotion.

Nature has myriad facets. It keeps changing from season to season, from minute to minute. If the sea was a bright blue in the morning, by noon it has become an emerald green hue. The colors of the sky keep changing throughout the day, from pale pink at dawn to a dazzling blue at mid morning and a bright orange by sunset and purple by twilight. Nature reflects our moods. When the sun shines, we feel happy and hopeful.

When the skies cloud over and the rain falls in torrents, we feel pensive. A balmy moonlit night can awaken the lover in us. Such is the transformative power of nature’s beauty.

Even evil surrenders before the beauty of nature. It has been observed that patients in hospital recover faster if they are in a room with windows that offer a pleasant view. Beyond providing pure pleasure, nature’s beauty can therefore offer therapy for sick minds and bodies. So it is all the more essential that we do our best to preserve it for future generations.

Every time we cut down a tree, every time an oil spill despoils the ocean, let us remember that we are destroying the most precious inheritance we can leave behind for our children.

    1. Hi uncle! Thank you for your enlightening and detailed insight. Indeed, humans must also learn to be “nature conscious” to preserve the inheritance for future generations while enjoying her blessings! It’s so beautiful that you call it the “melody of silence”!
